Julia Lefebvre

Julia Lefebvre is a partner at Thomson Blackburn Lane Lefebvre LLP. She has acted for both newspapers and broadcasters in defamation claims, challenging publication bans and sealing orders, and access to information matters. She has been involved in a number of anti-SLAPP motions and appeals. She has been counsel in matters related to the arrest and detention of journalists. Julia has also acted for media-related organizations as interveners in support of the open court principle in proceedings.
Julia is a member of the executive of the Entertainment, Media and Communications section of the Ontario Bar Association and former Chair. She is a frequent speaker on defamation and publication ban issues.
