Howard Winkler

Howard Winkler conducts pre-publication and pre-broadcast review for some of Canada’s most respected publishers and broadcasters.

Howard has been Peer Rated as a Best Lawyer in Canada in the area of Defamation and Media Law since the inception of the rating system in 2006.
He has been described as one of the country’s leading experts in Defamation Law and he is the author of the Defamation Law Chapter in the Bullen & Leake & Jacobs, Canadian Precedents of Pleadings (Carswell).

Howard has been a Certified Specialist in Civil Litigation for most of his almost 40-year career. He has represented clients in defamation matters at all levels of court, including at the Supreme Court of Canada. He is a Senior Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, Trial Lawyer Honorary Society and he is named to the Martindale-Hubbell Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers for earning the highest level of professional skill and integrity in the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory.
