Mark Bantey

Mark Bantey is a partner at Gowling WLG’s Montreal office. He has practiced in media law for over thirty-five years, acting for and advising both national and local press. Mr. Bantey has extensive experience in pre-publication and pre-broadcast review. He is also a litigator who has acted before all levels of the courts, including the Supreme Court of Canada, in libel, privacy and access to information cases and in other issues related to freedom of the press, including protection of sources and journalistic material, access to court proceedings, prior restraint and publication bans.
